While the Army Signal post on the top of the mountain will appreciate a regular visitor it remains to be seen as to how well this railway will prosper as a business venture. It's currently a boon for Manitou Spring's economy. The railway is paying wages of up to $0.25 an hour! Quite the fortune. Several businesses have popped up in Manitou Springs, almost overnight to provide equipment and services to the rail workers.
